American Express:
Authorizers Diagnostic and Coaching Tool

InterCom developed ADCT as a “flight simulator” for American Express authorizers, people who make decisions on whether to issue credit or not. The goal of ADCT is to coach authorizers as they make decisions about transactions so they more thoroughly understand the patterns of creditworthy and risky accounts. Such understanding leads to better decisions.

Authorizers use ADCT to practice their decision-making skills with simulated transactions. Because these simulated transactions are taken from real customer accounts, authorizers get feedback about their decisions based on what really happened to the customer's account. An authorizer can learn immediately the results of the decision he or she makes and adjust his or her behavior based on that feedback.

In addition to creating the ADCT learning environment, InterCom developed a capture program that allows American Express to store a new set of customer transactions. These updated transactions mean that ADCT reflects current business conditions and priorities.
