Schlumberger's Logging While Drilling
group had a problem. Too many students for their engineering seminars
and not enough classroom space. They hired InterCom
to help them ease the load.
InterCom analyzed the content of the
nine-week seminar and determined which parts of it could be develped as
computer-based training. The result was a robust, 25-hour training solution
delivered to the students world-wide on their laptops and through the
corporate intranet. Lessons include both simulations and practice. Grades
from the course can be uploaded to a central database anywhere there is
an internet connection.
Schlumberger has lopped off nearly 3 weeks of their original nine-week
seminar while at the same time offering more advanced topics in the newly
revamped seminar.
