The new Starwood salesperson takes an on-line lesson that links to other resources and
directs them to off-line activities and meetings. The Orientation structures and tracks the off-line
activities to make it quick and easy for the new person's manager to be sure that the Orientation is being done.
InterCom created the Orientation based on focus groups about what should be in the Orientation.
We interviewed both management responsible for the new employees and short term employees to
understand what information would have helped them.
The Orientation was customized for the European and Asian regions and shorter versions were developed
for Corporate and Franchisee employees.
We keep the Orientation up-to-date as needed due to organization and policy changes.
